This program takes the skills exercised by professional coaches and translates them into an every-day conversational approach for leaders to add to their toolkit. Coaching is recognised to be a key leadership skill for the future as organisations move towards more human-centric cultures. Coaching conversations are proven to increase innovation, creativity, ownership, empowerment, engagement and to inspire more meaningful and fulfilling work and relationships. Through conversation we reclaim a more natural approach as leaders, to each other as team colleagues and to our businesses as we move towards a sustainable future.

In 2021 this program is delivered through a series of virtual workshops facilitated by the program leaders, combined with applied real-life practice, group reflection and feedback. Participants will ‘graduate’ based on full attendance at all modules, completion of practice exercises and on assessment by course leaders that they have acquired and demonstrate an appropriate level of new skills. This program comprises a minimum of 24 instructor-led Learning. Participants may add to these with additional reading and self-study.

The program is divided into three phases. The first phase covers the Foundations of Coaching, the second phase is about practice and application and the third phase is for consolidation, action planning and reflection. For more detail click on the Course Structure button in this section.

Each leader will submit a final report at the end of the program documenting their learning journey, action plan, as well as summary reflections. This will be reviewed and assessed by the facilitator. A certificate will be offered to leaders who successfully demonstrate increased awareness and effective use of coaching / conversation tools and skills.

This Values-Based Leadership program is built from extensive study of and experience with key concepts related to leadership, values-based leadership and personal development.  The course design provides an opportunity for leaders to discover more about their leadership style, their core values, how they may be impacting others and develops their capability and capacity for authentic conversations.  After developing their own leadership, the focus shifts to leading their people, teams and the organization to operationalize the values, matching the values 'on the wall' to the lived experience around the organization. This journey will be delivered through four modules with practical assignments in between.

The key learning outcomes of the program are that participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the concepts of values-driven leadership, explore what leadership means to them, what’s working and what they want to shift

  2. Develop awareness of their work style, decision-making and personality preferences and how these may be impacting positively (or not) at work

  3. Define their core personal values and leadership purpose and connect to the organization’s values and purpose

  4. Explore the concept of feedback and how to create a feedback-rich environment to continue their leadership growth

  5. Practice skills to more effectively lead values-driven conversations with and for the teams they lead, creating organizational alignment around the values

  6. Define their leadership goals, values-aligned behaviors and an action plan to continue their development beyond the program

The program is divided into four modules. Each module is comprised of online classroom time, small group explorations of key topic, and individual guided reflections. Each module will be completed over a six-week period, with the specific dates and times agreed by each cohort. The power of what is being learned is revealed most profoundly when leaders are 'back on the job', and out of the classroom. Leaders will be encouraged to explore the concepts of values, leadership and leading in ways that are relevant to their work and their teams, reporting findings back to their small group and the larger cohort.  During the full program, each leader will keep a leadership learning journal for every module.

Each leader will submit a final report at the end of the program documenting their learning journey, including their defined core values and  purpose,  aligned  behaviours and action plan, as well as summary reflections. This will be reviewed and assessed by the facilitator. A certificate will be offered to leaders who successfully demonstrate increased understanding and insight into values-based leadership and their demonstration of this style of leadership.

While the culture of an organization is a reflection of the values and beliefs of the leaders, creating an inspired, empowered employee group of Values Ambassadors creates a positive force woven throughout the organization.  Values ambassadors inspire, educate and enhance the culture at critical points of contact with customers and colleagues, offering on-the-ground support, and creating higher levels of values engagement and dialogue throughout the organization. The Creating Values Ambassadors program key learning objectives are:

  1. Understand the concept and intent of a values ambassador, and define their personal values ambassador role for their organization

  2. Discuss, decide and document key activities of the values ambassador

  3. Develop the skills to effectively lead values conversations with customers and colleagues

  4. Develop action plan to sustain key values activities and the values ambassador role going forward

During the course, each participant will keep a values learning journal. This journal will form the basis of a one page final report each participant will submit at the end of the program documenting their key learnings and action plan going forward. This will be reviewed and assessed by the facilitator. A certificate will be offered to participants who successfully demonstrate increased insight into values-based activities and an action plan for future efforts.

*Cost per participant exclusive of accommodation, meals, venue costs, and facilitator travel expenses.
